Upon my third trip to the lake when it opened to the public last summer, I began journaling about the experience. After about 10 journal entries, my practical self _ which is usually banished to some dark corner of my mind and seldom allowed a voice _ brazenly piped up and asked, “What are you going to do with all this? Keep it under your bed? Why don’t you start a blog?” Proof that even a blind squirrel can occasionally find a nut. Thus was born Plain Water and Trail Mix.
